01/14/10 - So...Fringe or Mainstream, your call....
Did you miss me? I took a small hiatus, as I was filming and shooting near the end of the year and then there was my trip to Australia and Singapore....But am here now, thinking of you. Thinking about how our bond is so different... so very special. I think that the thing I love the most about what it is that we do....is our ablity to come close and linger there. So bear with me....I would like to offer you an insight, and insight into who I think we are.....
It never ceases to amaze me how our very nature surprises us. We love to believe that there are those among us who walk on water, and then when they fall, we love to take them down. In the media, this game has somehow become a spectator sport. Whether it is a politician, sports figure, or anything else. We love to watch them fall. The higher they go, the harder they fall, an old adage...but so true. I suspect Im not the only one whos noticed. We as humans are kept in line by restraints. Barriers that society puts up, some based on safety while others are based on morality. Without them we would not beable to stay within the constraints of decorum. But we somehow, we have taken the very nature of humans and put them on trial. Our fear that we will be seen makes us hit hard, so we spend time looking at others, instead of ourselves. Sex, drugs, scandals, it doesnt matter, we take them down, one at a time. The media and public has become judge and jury...imposing our values on the private lives of citizens who arent hurting anyone. The power feels good and we seem to revel in it. And yet, we cringe at power play. We act as if the world of Submission and Domination is bad...but we all play the game, just in different arenas. Be still and just think, Im sure youve watched and even talked about such people as Tiger Woods, Mark Maguire, Elliot Spitzer, Bill Clinton...I could go on......We all play putting others down...and act of submission, whether we know it or not...
I would like to offer another alternative for those of you who have played and recognize it...Try playing in a more benevolent arena, one where the exchanges are consensual..one where both parties are willing participants...Each one of us plays, just at a different level. We just dont want to admit it as it speaks to the core of who we are. The very need to trust. The very need to let another control us or the need for the power that comes with control. Whether its a small bite on the neck, fingernails scrapping down your back or simply holding someones hands down...were all in the game...its our nature.
I know my option might not be a popular one, but Im not afraid of that. I like the fact that we all have our own ideas and are allowed to have them. But I know there are those of you out there who will read this and it will stir something within...you will begin to want, and even need...its okay, as to me, thats human nature, I welcome you.....even want you....on your knees...on your back....anyway, I just want you....just as you are...
This in no way defines me as its simply a small part of who I am...My desires are varied and my skills diverse, Im just acknowledging its a part of me, Im human, and Im so very glad for that. So now youve heard my opinion on the subject. I so want to hear yours.....tell me who you are, agree, disagree...just let me in so I can know you...
